The Lab coat is beautifully tailored, with gentle pleating on the back and features two polished horn buttons and a zipped combat pouch on the sleeve. The Rick Owens New Safari Biker Jacket for autumn/winter ’11, seen here in dust grey.Rick Owens has reprised his slim-fitting leather Safari Jacket for autumn/winter, this time with a shortened torso and unique finish. The lamb leather used to create this jacket has been manufactured using a new ‘stonewash’ treatment to encourage a soft and distressed vintage texture and a distinctive dappled marking.The classic Safari shape combines a figure hugging torso with elongated sleeves to create the signature Rick Owens silhouette. The jacket closes with an asymmetric zipper and a press stud, which fastens on the high neckline. It has two external angled waist pockets with one on the chest to offset the curve of the zip and provide some symmetry.This piece is made in Italy of 100% lamb leather and is fully lined in rayon and cotton. Crafted from panelled Italian calf leather, virgin wool and a small amount of nylon, the resulting piece includes a variety of textures and finishes, while the construction mirrors the design of body armour and hints to the geometric and military themes of leather pieces from previous Rick Owens collections.The jacket is finished with a signature chunky, asymmetric zip fastening and elasticated cuffs, as well as two external pockets at the waist.
