The Raf Simons Formal Jacket for spring/summer ’11, seen here in black. Continuing the strap theme that has featured on clothes, shoes and accessories this season, this beautifully-tailored formal jacket is made extraordinary by three coloured straps, which horizontally cross the back. A stunning piece of tailoring, the two-buttoned jacket is single-vented and also features subtle shoulder pads, cream pinstripe lining in the arms and a fourth internal strap, which passes between two inside pockets. The jacket is handmade in Italy – please dry clean only.

The Raf Simons Structured Formal Jacket for spring/summer ’11, seen here in black. What may, on first glance, appear to be a standard two-buttoned, single-vented formal jacket is actually loaded with impressive detail and complex structure. The complex structuring of the jacket is most obvious on the back, where a variety of darts and panels are used to give the jacket it’s unique shape. Similarly, each arm features two darts and is lined with cream pinstripe material. This jacket was the last piece to be shown in this season’s Raf Simons show, emphasising the refined formal direction that the label has taken of late. This piece epitomises that direction and is a key item in the history of Raf Simons. Made in Italy – please dry clean only.
